Boogie Down by Virgil C. Stephens
I chose this painting because a lot of Beethovens time was spent at the piano since he devoted his life to music. This painting has a lot of cool colors which means it could symbolize some kind of depression or sadness, which Beethoven was always alone which could have caused him some depression.

Beethoven Monument in Bonn
The Beethoven Monument is a large bronze statue that stands in Beethoven's birthplace. In 1828 Carl Heinrich Breidenstein first expressed the idea of this statue in his home town. Up to that time it had not been German or Austrian practice to have statues of great cultural figures. On December 17, 1835, the "Bonn Association for the Beethoven Monument", issued a call for a permanent memorial to Beethoven. They asked for help from Germany, France, and England. Their responses weren't very promising. Franz Liszt involved himself in the project when it was clearthe project was lacking financial support. He contributed his advocacy and also his personal energies in concerts and recitals, the proceeds of which went towards the construction fund. The official unveiling on the Beethoven Monument was to be the high-point of a 3-day Beethoven Festival. The Beethoven festival started on August 10, 1845. I chose this statue because it shows that people admired him so much that they thought it was necessary to build a statue in his honor.
